BAGUE Mathieu
Hi all,
The powsybl-gse that provides a JavaFX GUI on top of powsybl is not maintained anymore. Our strategy trend towards a web-based (ReactJS) software. The github repository has been archived so it's still available in read-only mode. We'll probably keep it alive during few months and remove it later. Best, Mathieu

Default branch name of PowSyBl repositories
#poll-notice
Hi,
Many communities are considering renaming the default branch name of their repository from master for two main reasons:
Since October the 1st, the default branch for newly-created repositories is now main, which is the most popular replacement for master (see GitHub announce). GitLab also choosed main but considered default (used by mercurial), and excluded primary, develop, trunk, stable, release, base and root. You can find the reasoning on gitlab.com. Before taking a decision, we would like to do a survey of our community to know if we should switch to `main` for all our repositories or we should keep the current configuration.
Thank you for voting. Results will be available when the poll is closed.

Re: [lfenergy-tac] LF Energy mini-summit at Open Source Summit Japan 2020
TILLOY Anne
Hi TSC members, hi Powsybl community,
I have just received that from Naomi, who asks for an answer for tomorrow ! The idea is to have a short presentation in the Open Source Summit Japan in the beginning of December. I think we have to make it ! It will be great to separate our Powsybl presentation in a short presentation of the library and in 2 demos of projects that use Powsybl in the model layer.
I was thinking about open source projects : - FARAO https://farao-community.github.io/ - GridSuite https://github.com/gridsuite
But maybe we can also have other demos ! If you are interested in presenting what you are doing with Powsybl, please contact me.
Best regards,
Anne

Hello LF Energy TAC and Board members,
I hope you all are well. I’m reaching out to gauge your interest in potentially presenting at an LF Energy mini-summit during Open Source Summit Japan, December 2 - 4, 2020.
It was proposed that LF Energy should host a mini-summit to provide the OSS audience a deep dive into LF Energy, its projects, and future goals. If we move forward with the summit, would you/your project be interested in preparing a 15 - 30 minute pre-recorded presentation?
If you are interested, please reply to me at your earliest convenience no later than EOD Wednesday, 11 Nov. Let me know if you have any questions, and have a great week.
Regards, -Naomi

PowSyBl product for electrical sketching editor
Serkan KORKUT
Dear PowSyBl community,
I am Serkan, a Software Engineer who works at ASELSAN, an energy & defense & industrial automation company based in Ankara, Turkey.
My team is currently working on a problem which we had to design an electrical model sketch editor. During our research of existing literature, we had encountered PowSyBl projects.
First of all, we would like to thank and humbly congratulate you for your great work on PowSyBl projects.
Then, we are curious about if you had any product / repo / feature that has a toolbox of existing electrical elements(transformer, busbar etc) and generates a data model in any popular format(iidm, cgmes etc) from it.?
We already know that you have a repo for generating single line diagrams from existing data
https://github.com/powsybl/powsybl-single-line-diagram
But our main question is, is there a featrue in PowSyBl projects that, a user can drag and drop, let’s say a transformer for instance, from a toolbox in an editor anda result PowSyBl builds the underlying data format for dragged item in a popular data format(cgmes, iidm, json, xml)?
Also your user documentation and README.md’s are sometime not expressive so do you have a more up to date documentation?
Thanks a lot again & Wish you a great day, Serkan

HARPER Jon
Hi Serkan, thanks for reaching out ! We are always happy to share our work. Unfortunately, the powsybl project doesn't have a graphical editor for creating networks. However, some time ago, one person made a prototype to do exactly that. You can see his work here:
https://github.com/powsybl/powsybl-incubator/pull/204 Maybe you could collaborate ? Attached is a video of creating a network from scratch that Cesar did at the time.
Others in the list can maybe give your more info!
Cheers, Jon

Re: PowSyBl product for electrical sketching editor
JAMGOTCHIAN Geoffroy
Hi,
The repository powsybl-single-line-diagram contains only the low level component that is reponsible to generate a static svg from a network model. The SVG has been designed to facilitate an integration into a higher level component (like an editor): it is structured (using SVG groups) and an additional metadata file (metadata.json) is used to link graphics to network model. There is also a downstream project call GridSuite which is an open source project (but not under le LFE) based on powsybl (including single line diagram component) that might interest you. The Github repo is here: https://github.com/gridsuite. Several applications are developped in GridSuite and one of them is called GridStudy: it is a study mode (under developement, so basic right now) that will allow to load a network, apply modifications, run simulations, see results, etc. You can test it if you want with the online demo https://demo.powsybl.org/gridstudy/. You can login with you github account for instance (or any kind of microsoft account). You can also see a demo of this application with real data on youtube: https://youtube.com/channel/UCc2C5LE9EH-Lp34ASUm5T1A So in this tool, we have integrated the single line diagram component of powsybl, you can test it by choosing a voltage level on the left side of the application and clicking on it. You can also change the topology of a substation and see an update of the switch position and topological coloration (open the MicroGridMerge study and open PP_Amstredam 220Kv, the substation has a coupler that you can open or close). So currently we are only able using the single line diagram component to animate the SVG with a topology change or a power flow calculation update but our goal is also to be able to graphically change the structure of the substation (like add a new transformer or any other equipment) and export back the original case with the modifications (so for instance the original CGMES imported into the study with added equipments). So what your are describing will be one day possible with GridSuite but we don't known when... Best, Geoffroy
